The 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines (1/2) is one of the most storied units in the United States Marine Corps. Second to None.
During the Global War on Terror (GWOT) Era, 1/2 became heavily involved in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, 1/2 remains part of the 2nd Marine Regiment stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The battalion is a rapid-deployment force, prepared for amphibious assaults, expeditionary warfare, and crisis response missions worldwide.
